The developer of this software has restricted the automatic red feature to the following Paltalk versions by using this line of code:

<span>private static readonly string[] VerifiedVersions = new string[2] { "2.15.0.113628", "2.16.1.113799" };</span>
It also requires Paltalk to have an exact file size of:

<span>private const long ExpectedSize = 83903152L;</span>
My question is: Is this restriction in place because the command is called differently in other Paltalk versions, or can I simply remove these restrictions and expect the feature to work with other versions as well?

I'd appreciate any insight from anyone familiar with how this works. Thanks!

The version and file-size checks are intentional compatibility safeguards.

Automatic Red interacts with Paltalk's room controls, and those controls are not guaranteed to behave identically across different client versions. Changes to Paltalk's internal structure, user interface, or control handling can affect how reliably the feature operates.

The restrictions do not necessarily mean that a command has a different name in another version. They mean that the software has been configured to allow this functionality only on specifically recognized builds.

Removing those checks might allow the feature to attempt execution on other versions, but it would not guarantee correct operation. More importantly, it could potentially perform an unintended action on the wrong room participant.

For that reason, I would not recommend bypassing the compatibility checks.

Additional Paltalk versions can be supported once their behavior has been properly examined and verified. The goal is reliability and user safety, not unnecessarily restricting compatibility.

A big upgrade is coming to this program and all my paltalk programs, i just need time to push them out and audit them a few more times before publish.
All of my programs will gain what i labeled the slybridge which is pretty much the new brains of my programs.
All of the research i have done and the way pal handles requests commands etc is built into the bridge and the programs just pull for it with known verified responses.

No more ui tracking for windows etc, more confident, reliable interactions.
