Paltalk Not Working? Try These Fixes

If Paltalk isn't working, won't open, rooms aren't loading, your microphone has stopped working or the application keeps crashing, work through these common fixes.
🔄 Completely restart Paltalk: Close Paltalk and make sure it isn't still running in the Windows system tray or Task Manager. Then reopen it.
💻 Restart Windows: Particularly useful for microphone, speaker, Bluetooth, USB headset, driver or Windows Update problems.
🌐 Check your connection: Open several unrelated websites. If other programs are having problems too, restart your modem/router and investigate the internet connection first.
🔐 Check security software: Make sure Windows Firewall or third-party security software isn't blocking the legitimate Paltalk application. Don't permanently disable your protection just to make Paltalk work.
🎤 Microphone not working: Open Windows Settings → System → Sound → Input and verify Windows detects your voice. Also check Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone and make sure microphone access is allowed.
🔊 Can't hear anyone: Verify the correct Windows output device, speaker/headset volume and Windows Volume Mixer. Windows sometimes changes the default audio device when you connect Bluetooth devices, monitors or headsets.
🚪 Room won't open: Try several different rooms. If only one fails, the problem may be limited to that room. If none open, restart Paltalk and check your connection.
💥 Paltalk keeps crashing: Restart Windows, install pending updates, check drivers and make sure you're using a current Paltalk release.
🖥️ Paltalk looks broken: Restart the application, check Windows display scaling and graphics drivers, and note whether the problem began immediately after an update.
♻️ Last resort—reinstall: Download the current installer from Paltalk's official website rather than an unknown download site.
